Still a bunch of BS, that only and unintelligent person would believe.

yes, in 1988, jws were so happy to learn that carbon dating proved the shroud of turin was a fake from the middle ages ... yes, once again, jehovah's alleged organization was forward moving in its truth ... ahhhh ... but wait!
it turns out, that while the carbon dating was accurate, it was not understood that the 1988 test inadvertantly used a repair patch from the 1300's.
so, yes, the carbon dating would show this date.

a prominent elder in a local congregation came home to his wife and told her "i love you, but i'm not in love with you".
then wrote a letter to the congregation elders asking to be disfellowshipped.
it is t. b#ffa.
This game hjas being played as longs as I can recall. I knew one good Jdub that did a few times and everytime, after being DF'd for a year was welcomed back with open arms.

someone on this site mentioned they got a km off ebay that praised those that sold all their belongings and preached.. does anyone know which km that was?.
interesting, when going through the society's cd-rom i noticed that the drama for the district convention in 1975 was about noah's ark and was something along the lines of "there's still time left!
" (i'm paraphrasing).. -dm
I also know one couple that the brother studied with me. He was adamant that the end was right around the corner and that Ii had to get baptised as soon as possible. Well a few years after 1975 their marriage ended up in divorce, they both turned to alcohol and he ended up dying a bitter person. My dad also sold our house just before 1975 as his reasoning was the system end was so near. He sold it to a brother that only kept it a few years and that brother sold it and made a tidy profit on it. If my dad would have kept it till he retired in the mid 80's he would have got almost 10 times as much money and would have set my parents up for the rest of their lives.

GetBusyLiving,
I was one that lived through the 1975 hype and no matter what any dub tells you to the contrary, it is true. I recall studying with some good dubs in the late 60's early 70's and the push was definitely on to do more in the troof as the end of the system was only a matter of months or weeks away. Most of those good dubs now are either dead or no longer practicing dubs. It is sad to see these zealous faithful people get sucked into the BS. I have kept the proof. I have most of the KM from the late 60's and early 70's. If anyone ever wants a certain article scanned I would be happy to do it.

so we have our circuit overseer this week.
we're getting the crap kicked out of us (figuratively) for our meeting attendance.
we have attendance in the 70% range for some of our meetings.
Same recycled crap from meeting to meeting. I guess even the average dub is starting to get tired of the same garabage over and over again. I haven't been to a meeting in years and if I went to one tomorrow, I would hear nothing new. I guess its time for another new "end of system" date.

i am pretty sure this is what i am.
i would love to chat with anyone else who might want to sort some stuff out with me.. many thanks!.
Why does a person that has left one dysfunctional religion want to gravitate to another dysfunctional religion. A friend gave me a book by a Born Again Christian. I am not at home right now and I can't recall the name of it but I am sure if I said mentioned the name many Born Againers would know what book I am talking about. Being an open minded person I read the book and highlighted a few points in it. I have to disagree with ones that posted on here saying that being Born Again is not controlling theology. The theme through the whole book is all to do with making one feel guilty if they do not do what the book says. Also through the book they mentioned about "tithing" 10% of your money to their church. It would be a cold day in hell before I would give 2 cents to any religious cause.

I consider myself non Christain in the sense I don't believe Jesus was the Christ. He was just a man that made a few good points. I think the important thing is what Jesus said as to loving one another. One does not need a religion or a label to be a better human being. If you choose to be born again, that is great, just leave your beliefs to yourself.

i heard from my bethel contact that the magazines are to be published monthly from 2006 and 2007. only 12 mags a year, but 46 pages each with no colour illustrations.has anyone else heard about this cut back?
i also heard there is to be a new song book in the summer so that witnesses no longer sing about "sheep and goats" and other "old light".

The bottom line is even if you can prove the shrouds age, it still comes down to faith. Wasn't it the Catholics that were worshipping some piece of cheese toast because it had the image of the Virgin Mary? I wonder if a person whipped their butt on it, would it cure their hemorrhoids
